Gång på gång stiger älven, sköljer spåren ur ditt ansikte
Sublime textile print, 33,4 x 43,3 cm, 2025
The river is something that comes up in interviews, medical records, and photographs when I try to find out who my grandmother was. The river can symbolize many different things; it dampens and hides, drifts around, is constantly in motion. In the water, things can come to the surface, lose direction, and be pulled by the force of the current. When the river freezes, it closes, but at the same time makes it possible to get to the other side. The river is as volatile as the memory itself.
